Kraig Scattarella has lived in Portland for 44 years. He has spent half of his life as a professional photographer mainly covering people and events for "The Oregonian" newspaper as a photojournalist.

Kraig has a special ability of documenting people in an intimate style of portraiture. A journalistic-style special event photographer, the true art of documentary comes through in covering events such as weddings.

Most of his work is black and white because he says it's less distracting than color and lets him capture the expressions on people's faces.
